JAIPUR - AGRA - FULL MOONLIGHT VIEW OF TAJ MAHAL
Morning elephant ride to Amer Fort! Admire exquisite wall paintings, ivory, mirror and glass work. On the way to Agra stop at the 9th century village Abhaneri, with one of the largest step-wells in India. Delicate carvings are its visual threat! Continue to Agra, capital of the grand Mughal Empire in 16th-17th centuries. Tonight experience the most memorable impression - moonlight Taj Mahal. AGRA - HOLI COLOUR FESTIVAL CELEBRATION
It is a day to get soaked with colours, have fun, dance under sprinkles of water and enjoy Indian sweets. Be a part of the most colourful festival in the world - Holi! This day is a celebration of spring, unity and brotherhood. According to Indian mythology, today Lord Krishna applied colour to his bellowed girlfriend's Radha's cheek. You will enjoy the festival at the most spectacular place - on a rooftop with Taj Mahal at the background. In the afternoon explore the interiors of impressive Agra Fort.
AGRA - BHARATPUR BIRD SANCTUARY - JHANSI - ORCHHA
Escape to the wonder of natural world, serene oasis of Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary also known as Keoladeo. The name comes from an ancient Hindu temple, devoted to Lord Shiva, which stands in the middle of the wetland ecosystem and dense forests of Bharatpur. Enjoy cycle rickshaw ride through magnificent bird heaven where tropical deciduous trees intermixed with dry grassland are hosting not only thousands of birds, but also antelopes, sambar deers, jackals, mongooses and more. Later transfer to railway station to board the train for Jhansi and proceed by car to Orchha. It is a cozy small town with evocative fragrance of the glorious Bundela era.
Full day sightseeing tour. Once the capital of the mighty Bundelas, Orchha is now a small town set in a complex of spectacular palaces and temples. Founded in early 16th century, it was the center of a powerful kingdom until the 1780s. When Mughal emperor Jahangir visited in 1606, during the city’s golden age, a separate palace was built especially for him. Cross a bridge to the fort, which contains the magnificent 17th century Jahangir and Raj palaces. Also visit the famous Ram Raja, Chaturbhuj, and Lakshmi temples. Spend a peaceful evening near the river in a beautiful garden where cenotaphs are laid in memory of Bundela kings.
Orchha - Khajuraho
Beautiful Orchha! A day to scroll in town, chat with locals, get a mehndi "tattoo" or just relax at hotel near swimming pool and try ayurvedic massage. For those interested in active leisure, enjoy rafting in Betwa river. In the afternoon transfer to Khajuraho - city of "love temples".
